Hi I love your posts, beautiful photos! I have a question if you don't mind, how much did you budget for your semester abroad at Leeds not including flight and residence? I'm in the process of applying for next September and knowing this would be really helpful in my planning. Sorry for asking anonymously, I don't have a Tumblr blog.

Thank you!  Glad you’re liking my posts :)

I’m not going to lie, I only did a quick budget in my application for an exchange at my home uni and I didn’t actually do a legit budget.  Hopefully some of this helps though!  Each week to week and a half, I spend about £20-£25 on groceries.  I’m not a huge partier so I haven’t really been spending loads on cover and drinks.  I’d much rather spend that money on side trips or shopping.  As for trips, I’ve found that I have to pick and choose between places I want to visit for side trips.  I can’t afford to go to every single place on my list, so I had to narrow my list down.  OH and keep in mind that in some residences (like mine), you need to pay to use the washing machines.  I have to pay £3 per load if I want to use the residence machines…  But thank goodness, some of my friends lucked out and had washing machines in their kitchens!

I’m really sorry I’m not much help budget-wise!

ETA: I completely forgot about cellphones!  You’ll also have to add that into your budget.  There’s cheaper options but I pay £15.50 per month with O2 and this includes 100mb of data, unlimited texting, and minutes (but I don’t remember how many).
