Headspace: 2018 Goals

2018 started quite a while ago (hah) and while it's common to come up with resolutions, I'd rather think of some goals that I'm working towards this year. And perhaps by writing them down in this way, I'll be more likely to succeed in doing them.

1. Say "no" more.

This is something I've been trying to work on the past half a year and I can't say I've truly got it down yet, but I'm working on it. I have trouble turning down people or events sometimes and this has only led to me being essentially burnt out.

2. Listen better.

I'd like to think I'm a good listener but I think that listening better is something most people, including myself, can work on. Whether that's actually paying attention and remembering someone's name when you're being introduced or not trying to think of the next question you want to ask someone as they're talking, it's all about being present and actually making the effort.

3. Be less impulsive with my spending.

This is a huge one for me. I'm not one to constantly spend but when I do, I typically splurge impulsively. I don't want to blame this on my expensive taste but I can't help but like nice things. 2018 is the year I truly learn how to spend my money wisely — or at least improve on how I currently do.
