chicago, part one.

After I finished my fourth and final co-op work term this summer, I jetted off to Chicago for a few days before I was a fully-fledged student again. Chicago has always been a city I’ve wanted to visit, especially since Cloud Gate (commonly called The Bean) is located there. Just as an aside, I’m a big fan of Anish Kapoor, which should explain my desire to see Cloud Gate.

Once we landed at O’Hare, we headed to our hotel to drop off our bags before running out the door in order to make our reservation at Girl and the Goat. The restaurant is the brainchild of Stephanie Izard, winner of season four of Top Chef. After having been featured by Anthony Bourdain on The Layover, we knew we needed to make a trip to the restaurant and it totally met our expectations and more. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and everything tasted so amazing. I would actually say that this meal was one of my top five meals of my life.

Everything was actually so delicious and anytime I think about this meal, I start to salivate. And I also consider flying back to Chicago just so I could eat at Girl and the Goat again. Seriously, people. Those ham frites are to die for.

Next up, my visit to the Art Institute and the MCA! x
