eurotripping: mykonos, sorrento, pompeii.

MYKONOS
Apart from the pictures and paintings of Greece we have hanging up in the house, the first time I even really got to see what some of the Greek islands were like was when I watched The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. And when I got to Mykonos, it was basically like what I had seen in that movie… You know, with all of the beautiful white buildings, the sea, and the beaches. Beyond gorgeous.

SORRENTO/POMPEII
Our excursion to Sorrento and Pompeii was good and bad. Walking around Sorrento was  great and it’s such a pretty town. We went up to a farm in the hills for lunch and we also got to see a demonstration on the production of mozzarella cheese, which we got to sample during lunch. Next, we were taken to Pompeii and the rain was coming down so hard on the bus ride there. I wasn’t ready at all for the rain and cold weather (neither were my parents), so my dad ended up buying three of those souvenir “Italia” jackets. The cold weather put a damper on our visit to the ruins of Pompeii, so I can’t really say that I enjoyed my time there.
